Tatsuki Hoshihara’s most recent work, ‘Antigravity’ focuses on geological formations. He states: “I wanted to experience the relationship between nature and time in a vast plain with my body.” Hoshihara constructed the work in November of 2023. Arriving on site daily throughout the month. Working dawn to dusk, he excavated 433 wheelbarrow loads of dirt and caliche rock entirely by hand- the site features two parts of a whole: the excavated void which viewers may enter in, and the deposited mass of soil 20 yards away.
